The draw, which commenced at 10:00 AM on April 6, 2026, marks the start of the formal enrollment process for thousands of students.

Verification Process and Infrastructure

For the 2026 session, the Delhi government has intensified the scrutiny process to ensure transparency. 29 zonal teams have been established across 15 districts, working under the direct supervision of District Deputy Directors of Education.

Note: Selected candidates will receive an automated SMS on their registered mobile numbers detailing their assigned verification centers.

Mandatory Documents for Admission

Verification is based strictly on the data provided during the online application. Parents must carry the following:

  • Proof of Birth: Birth Certificate or equivalent.
  • Eligibility Proof: Income certificate (annual income must be less than Rs. 5 lakh), BPL, or AAY ration card.
  • Category Proof: Caste certificate for DG or Disability certificate for CWSN.
  • Residence Proof: Voter ID, Aadhaar card, Passport, or Utility bills.

What Happens if a Candidate is Not Selected?

The DoE has confirmed that any seats remaining vacant due to non-reporting or document rejection will be carried over. A second computerized draw of lots will be conducted at a later date, which will be notified on the Official Edudel Website.

Compliance for Private Schools

Schools are mandated to admit students allotted through the computerized draw without conducting separate entrance tests or additional screenings. Non-compliance with these directives could lead to legal action under the RTE Act, 2009 and the DSEAR Act, 1973.
